Priya Ramaswamy, MD, MEng
Clinical Informatics Fellow @ UCSF
Priya Ramaswamy worked as a UCSF clinical informatics fellow and anesthesiologist with the MINDSCAPE Team. Her work included applying the WHO-Clinical Progression Scale of Covid-19 to patients based on EHR data and studying how area of deprivation affects covid-19 hospital-outcomes.

Stephanie Reynolds, MPH
Research Analyst
Stephanie Reynolds, MPH graduated with her Master of Public Health from UTHealth Science Center with a background in Epidemiology and Biopsychology. After moving to the Bay Area in early 2020, she started at UCSF as a Research Coordinator. Passionate about data analytics, Steph joined Proctor in August 2021 where she conducted work in data analysis and modeling, and also provided support in grant administration and project coordination efforts. In her free time, Steph loves baking, attending concerts, and spoiling her puppy.
Christopher Hoover, MPH, PhD
As a postdoctoral scholar with MINDSCAPE, Chris developed an agent-based model to simulate COVID-19 transmission among staff in congregate settings. This helped inform optimal testing protocols for staff. He now works for the California Department of Public Health’s Modeling and Advanced Analytics team.
Phoebe Lu, MPH
Phoebe Lu worked as an analyst and web programmer for MINDSCAPE. She designed the initial webpage and a couple of R Shiny applications for transforming modeling results into an interactive app. She is currently a doctoral student at UCLA and an Epidemiologist for the California Department of Public Health.
Jen Gong, PhD
As one of the first MINDSCAPE members, Jen’s expertise in machine learning was crucial in formulating the MINDSCAPE proposal and launching the effort to characterize the clinical trajectories of hospitalized COVID cases. She was also the site leader for the M-CURES team at the University of Michigan. She is now Lead Data Scientist at HEALTH[at]SCALE Technologies.
Anna Stachel, MPH, PhD
As former Assistant Director of the Department of Infection Prevention and Control at NYU Langone Health, Anna’s expertise in applied healthcare epidemiology strengthened the connection between MINDSCAPE models and real-world application.
Previous Student Interns

Milad Shafaie
UC Berkeley, Computer Science
Milad worked at Proctor on wastewater-based modeling to monitor the spread the COVID-19 pandemic. If Milad had to be any animal, he would be an owl.
Ryan Nayebi
UC Berkeley, Data Science & Computer Science
If Ryan had to be any animal, he would be an would be an elysia chlorotica, a medium-sized, green sea slug.

Akshay Patel
UC Berkeley, Environmental Science & Data Science
Akshay worked at Proctor on wastewater-based modeling to monitor and anticipate COVID-19 spread, He also studied the inequities of wastewater-based epidemiology and COVID-19 testing. If Akshay could be any animal, he would be a great-horned owl.
